Re: My iPod is Bricked!

I applied the wrong bootscreen and it got bricked but now I want to smash my 'Pod with a hammer. The screen is cracked. But LogoMii was actually compatible with 4.1 and it worked thousands of times before. I just applied the wrong stuff to it.

Re: My iPod is Bricked!

You were on 4.1 the whole time? If you have anything but an iPod touch 2G/iPhone 3G, you can't go to 4.2.1 now (unless you downgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.1) as Apple is stopping requests to upgrade to 4.2.1.

SHSH Blobs are all I need.

Re: My iPod is Bricked!

Does Cydia already have them? Oh, and when you get a new device, check if it has 4.2.1. If it does, use greenpois0n if you like. If it doesn't, there is a jailbreak for 4.3, but it's tethered.

Tethered, untethered...doesn't bother me much as long as my jailbreak apps aren't deleted.

EDIT: Yes, Cydia has them but SpringBoard won't let anything access my iPod because it is too busy crashing the heck out of itself. I need to wipe SpringBoard or something off of there to fix the reboot loop. -- That or smash my iPod with a hammer or a metal pole.

Restoring or upgrading deletes the jailbroken apps, or rather makes them hidden and wastes space (upgrading only). As long as you stay on the same firmware without upgrading/restoring, the apps won't be deleted.

And if your iPod reboots or shuts down on a tethered jailbreak you will get either 1) Connect to iTunes (full tether), 2) Normal boot but all jailbroken apps don't work (semi-tethered), or 3) Stuck at the Apple logo (semi-tethered with something hooking into something important like SpringBoard). I always go untethered. But I try tethered jailbreaks sometimes to see if they work.

Do I need AMDD to jailbreak? AMDD = Apple Mobile Device Drivers

I don't know, but it might be a good idea to have them. If you have iTunes installed, you already have them installed.

I try to keep away from slowTunes on my 256 MB (240 MB if you throw in Video RAM) Windows XP PC.

Re: My iPod is Bricked!

There is a way to install iTunes without the bloat. That means installing only the essential parts for you and not the whole thing.

If you don't want to use WinZip, I use PeaZip, it's free and opens EXEs also.

I have WinZIP, WinRAR and Universal Extractor. All work well.

Re: My iPod is Bricked!

Sad be this story.

This is what happens when you void your warranty.

But don't mind me. I'm a hypocrite. I got Cydia and 3rd Party Packages too.

You should be EXTRA careful with your iTouch when it's jailbroken.
