If you mean the Scratch program itself, are you sure that your computer has Mac OSX 10.4 or higher? If not, try going here.
Or perhaps you accidentally downloaded the Windows or Ubuntu version?
If you have got the right version, you could try uninstalling Scratch and reinstalling it...

Did you not save the project for some reason? If you didn't save it, you can't open it.
RANDOM THOUGHT: If the tomato is a fruit, doesn't that make ketchup a smoothie?
