You don't have to read this if you don't want to, it's just an incident that's really starting to anger me. I feel a lot better writing this down actually.
A certain game maker (no names) has once again reached the front page and still no one knows who actually wrote the wall jump engine in it. Well, I did. Sure, maybe you believe me, maybe you don't, maybe you don't even care, but I did. For proof you can compare the scripts of this project (from my test account) to see that they're exactly the same. Compare the dates with his first wall jumping project, mine is older.
He's also done the export glitch so it doesn't say the project was based on mine.
Usually I like remixing and support it, but this guy has not only given me no credit at all, he claims he wrote it himself and deletes every comment I make on his projects asking for credit. People may think a drawn sprite is more important and a script doesn't matter, but I'm a programmer and I care about my scripts.
On that project I see someone telling him that someone stole his project. So now I've got a guy who stole a script from me, and another guy who stole the script from him. What fun.
I usually don't rant like this but it's really making me angry. All I want is for people to know who wrote the script. In fact, I'll let him continue to use it if he gives credit and lets people know who made it, because right now it seems that no one does.

This is why I left the main site.
It shouts "Welcome to NOOB LAND, where all of your precious ideas and scripts are taken from you WITHOUT CREDIT! No extra charge!"

The problem is I still like to program, and I still like to upload projects and everything, and I still like to see other people's projects, but this is really putting me off. Suppose something else of mine gets taken and front paged. Suppose someone accuses me of stealing from him and they believe him. Arg. This is driving me off the main site as well.

Under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License (which all projects uploaded to scratch.mit.edu are under), other users must credit you. I think that because it goes against this, as well as the Give credit section of the Terms of Use, you should contact the Scratch Team.

I wasn't talking about your games.

Do you see any games at all in those sections? Right now? No. Yet another one of my woes. Hint, it's another Top section.

Well yes, but now we're getting a bit specific. I don't want to directly say who it is.

well, I used to think _____'s games were pretty good, until I saw this forum. That is pretty obnoxious.

That sucks, bro.
Didn't this happen before too?

E-mail the Scratch Team and let them deal with the offender - they have more power than you.

It has indeed, with another guy who thankfully never reached the front page (or at least I hope he never did). I won't mention names though.
@brettman: Thanks for the concern.
Oh joy, he's made yet another. I'll start the timer to when that hits the front page.
Can you guess if I've been credited? If you said no, you're correct. I see he has also deleted my comment request for credit again.

LOL! changing the sprite and the X/Y values is NOT coding yourself.

I may have misunderstood that, was that directed at me or the guy in question?
@Jonathanpb: I'd like to, I'm just afraid I don't have sufficient reason for it.

Yeah that happened to me too
Thankfully, my project reached the front page and his didn't

Good Lord, it's been reverse order this whole time. The guy who stole the wall jumping engine from this guy was actually the guy who stole it from me, and this guy stole it from that guy. Make sense?
No, it doesn't. This has spiraled out of control into craziness.

Apparently this guy was the first to take it. Now no one will believe me. Arg. Now I really get to fume.

Finally. He finally puts up the credit. I went through all this trouble that has lasted months to get a single sentence, and I finally have it. "wall jump by Kileymeister." Excellent.
Initiating cool down mode.

Kiley, it was directed at this. changing the X/Y values on the script is NOT coding it yourself. As stated above, this is a legitimate violation of intellectual property, and would almost guaranteed hold up in a federal court. (For those of you who don't know, scratch projects are published under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike license. that means that you may re-use it, as long as you give credit (attribution) and share it under the same or similar license (share alike))
Edit: the project is down, or the server is messed up...
Edit 2: I see. he took it down and re-uploaded the project.

Wow. Good thing he let up and credited me (see above posts).
Well, hasn't this been an exciting and dramatic chapter in my programming history. But it's finally over.

yeah, in that rant I was outposted.
Maybe almost guaranteed is a little too much, but it would be a legit case.
