Not innovative, true, but should prove to be an interesting combination.

Yes. Yes it is

I tried ignoring all the scripts, and tried to find the obvious problem. It seems that if I start the enemy script, but not mine, the enemy will follow the player but when it reaches it, it bobs around. Nothing out of the ordinary, but when I drag (use mouse) the player out of the way (ie, off the planet, or on the other side of the planet), without starting the "player's" script, the enemy will not follow, and will continue it's bobbing until I start the "player's" script, AND THEN move (arrow keys). I believe that the enemy script is somehow triggered, only when both scripts are running simultaneously, therefore this could be some sort of a breakthrough, on how both scripts should be running independently, thus putting the link between on how when the "player" moves anticlockwise, the enemy moves clockwise, and vice versa.
Sorry if this is isn't even related, or is a really stupid idea.

I love the idea! Go for it! I'd be willing to coordinate a project like this, if you don't want to.

actually, webster's dictionary begs to differ:
Innovate [verb]
to introduce something new; make changes in anything

do it

Hey you should never run away from your dreams..:)Just go and grab the opportunity.

don't do it, it will be boring and annoying, without saying difficult to control and program, without saying you almost "copied" the idea from 2 games, and put them togheter, the whole point is being creative, not copying something you think is awesome unless you add BIG changes, like a shooter-racing game... IDEA!

that is being creative though, do you realize how many vanilla brawl games are out there? This would be an interesting idea, a new, completely different take on an age old classic. Besides, the simpler ideas are usually better and are possible to make.

I guess I should write up a detailed progress log for this:
-Programming: 90.26%
-Basic Programming: 100%
-Camera: 100%
-Menu System: 100%
-Player Programming: 83.3%
-Movement: 100%
-Attacking: 50%
-Taking Damage: 100%
-AI Programming: 87.5%
-Relations to Player: 100%
-Movement: 100%
-Attacking: 50%
-Taking Damage: 100%
-Graphics: 15%
-Menu: 20%
-Title Screen: 50% (Needs work)
-Character Select Screen: 10%
-Stage Select Screen: 0% (You can't choose the stage yet)
-Characters: 20% (2 of probable 10 [maybe less])
-Stages: 20% (I of probable 5)
-Heads-Up Display Screen: 0%
-Features: 66%
-Scrolling: 100%
-Hurt animation: 100%
-Music: N/A
-Planet Rotation: 0% (May be scrapped, can confuse player, may be used on one stage)
-Overall: 57.1%
While overall it says 54.6% done, this game is actually close to finished. Most of the things dragging the percentage down are little things that can be added quickly. Also, this is a programming intensive project, not a graphics intensive one, and the programming is almost done, so I'm close to finished.

Probably, I have an awful habit of leaving things draggable that aren't supposed to be.

Playing games with scrolling makes my brain melt.Well, I'm terribly sorry to hear that. I suppose that combined with trying to orient yourself to a planet may be a bit too much for your brain.
Did you melt your own brain when making your own scrollers then?x AND y scrollers make my brain melt.
then you must not read under the line

Ok, most of the actual programming is done. Onto the menus. Not my favourite part to be honest.
Oh, and I hope you guys like really limited character options [/sarcasm], because I could only think of like four characters.
Yeah... polish is not gonna be great on this project. But the game programming is pretty solid right now.

Ok, actually the whole thing is pretty much finished except for a choice of stages.
Now, I can add more stages, but due to a certain way I coded it, I will need to remake some variables and change large amounts of scripts. This will take a while. I will also need to program the AI to follow you from planet to planet (it won't be able to do this with its current programming, it's designed for single-planet stages).
So, I can upload it soon (probably Saturday), with one basic stage, or I can upload it later (maybe next week) with some colorful stages. Whaddaya say?
Offline
Alright, due to no response I decided to continue working on it, since no one seems to want it now. I'll add a few stages, but it will take longer to make now.
Offline
It's finished! It will be uploaded Friday, March 18th. I hope you guys like it when it comes out!
Offline
Bah, might not have the time to upload it tomorrow. It'll hopefully be uploaded tomorrow or Saturday. Definitely before Sunday. Still will probably be uploaded tomorrow.
