Anybody here a fan of punk rock (The Clash, The Ramones, Bad Religion, Black Flag, etc.) or pop-punk (Blink-182, New Found Glory, All Time Low, Jimmy Eat World, certain MCR, Panic! At The Disco, etc), hardcore punk (Taking Back Sunday, Sunny Day Real Estate, early MCR), or any other subgenre of punk.
If so, what are your favorite bands/songs/albums?
BTW, these bands aren't pop-punk so don't mention them:
A Day To Remember (Metalcore/Screamo)
Cobra Starship (Pop, I can't believe someone would think they are the least bit influenced by punk)
Fall Out Boy (Pop rock)
Simple Plan (Pop rock)
Cute Is What We Aim For (Pop rock/powerpop)
Good Charlotte (Pop rock/power pop)
So yeah! Discuss punk rock's awesomeness.

I like punk stuff. I'm a big punk myself. I love the clothing style, mixing black with color, and you can stand out. Another thing that I like about punk is that it's probably the most expressive style you can get. (Sure, goth is expressive, but not really positively.) One band I really like is the Dandy Warhols. They are SOOOOOOOO cool. They're pretty unknown, but if you search them on youtube, I bet you'd like some of their stuff. I also like Bon Jovi and Green Day, but do those count as punk bands? Well, the point is, I like either punk or really hard rock. I think I'll sing Livin' on a Prayer for the school talent show.
EDIT: I also kind of like 80s music, and some disco.
It's very danceable which I like, whereas punk is more expressive.

Bon Jovi is classic rock, not punk. Green Day though, are responsible for bringing punk to the mainstream, so they are definitely punk.

You have your right to an opinion, but I personally strongly disagree. In my opinion, every song sounds the same, and there is absolutely no meaning to the lyrics. Punk, on the other hand sounds like the artist just do what they do, instead of just trying to get rich. They put effort into their lyrics, play their own instruments, and do everything that a good band should.
But that's just my opinion.

Metal is awesome too.
Unless you are talking about Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, Staind, and other awful nu metal bands.
I hate Limp Bizkit. I like Metallica and Zeppelin. Although I don't know if you would consider Led Zeppelin a metal band... My favorite band is probably Metallica or Clash.

Also try listening to their 90's stuff. Dookie and Insomniac are the best ones.

all songs by classic punk bands
most songs from Dookie, Insomniac, and American Idiot by Green Day

2. Smells like teen spirit (Nirvana)
3. Livin' on a prayer (Best guitar solo of humankind.

Yeah, and so are the Jonas Brothers
Anyway I love Ska-P. It's, well, Ska-Punk which is an awesome mix IMO, the catchy ska rhythm plus the heaviness and meaningful lyrics of true punk... It's in Spanish, though, and it has lots of swearing. Another band I kinda like is Los Mox, a Chilean hardcore punk band. And Blink-182 but it's been ages since I last listened to them
I'm more of a thrash/heavy metal/hard rock guy though.
