Re: Intended age of scratch user

Scratch was designed for ages 8 to 16.

However, we have members on the online community from 5 to 50+ years old.

There are elementary school kids, middle schoolers, lawyers, scientists, college students, teachers, librarians, high schoolers, university professors, animators, grad students and bloggers using Scratch, some of them very active on the forums and creating projects all the time.

The Scratch team has been surprised by a lot of projects that we didn't even know were possible to create in Scratch. I am 28, I have a computer science background, and I have seen projects by users a lot younger than me that I don't think I could have ever imagine doing in Scratch!

The bottom line is: Scratch is those who have fun exploring and expressing themselves using new media and digital technology. There is something to learn from everyone.
