Bullying

You have no idea how many times I've been called names, pushed around, spit at, or hit.
I can't take it.
Next ***** who bullies me is going to get hurt. Telling the teachers never helps. It just makes it worse.

Re: Bullying

Everyone thinks gossip is harmless, but I've been talked about because I wear all black. They think I'm goth, and they've stopped saying that, but when they did say those things about me it really did hurt. The girls in my grade just cannot accept different. They hate my chrome blue doc martens (hard to believe) just because they're not All-stars or Ugg boots.  roll  I'm trying to let it roll right off my back, but the thought that people are making fun of me because I am tall, have acne, and wear Doc Martens at age 11 kind of makes me want to punch someone in the face. Preferably the people who are making fun of me.  neutral

The best idea is to keep a cool head.  A bully loses interest when you give no ground.  This sounds like cheesey advice but I assure you it works and gives you the best reputation afterwards.

I bet this was directed at someone else, Kileymeister, but the problem is that since the teasing I've been going through is indirect, I don't think that the people who gossiped about me know that I know what they're saying. I'm gonna need to ask if anyone's been talking behind my back lately, because the teasing I'd endured was a few months ago and I need an update  smile

Yes, i do - i went to an all boys, Private school - In Australia that's torture, and i went since year 3 to year 7 term 3, pushed around Wait until you get pushed into a brick wall - i lost some memories then (& had a ct scan), spit at Now that's just mean, or hit Kicking the shin hurts more.
I can't take it. Who blames you?  I changed school beacuse of it!  smile
Next ***** who bullies me is going to get hurt. Yeah, reason i never retaliated.  Broken bones for the bully, weekend detention for me  yikes  (in year 2, i deflated a soccer ball by stomping on it[color] Telling the teachers never helps. [color=red] Try getting the teacher to talk to you and the bully at the same time. It just makes it worse. I know, right? It worked better with me there  roll

Sounds like your teachers are doing a terrible job.

08jackt's advice works pretty well if your teachers are not making the effort to stop the bullying. If the teachers aren't going to get involved, then the parents are going to have to get involved; there's usually a pretty good chance that if the parents of the bully are alerted something might get done (and it's best to keep on continually telling the parents every time and incident of bullying).

I know, the advice is rather lame. But for around three years of my life in a certain private school I was bullied pretty badly because I didn't fit their stereotype of a public school kid (I originally went to public school and then transferred to that private school. Apparently everyone there perceived public school kids to be stupid and a delinquent, but I passed every class with flying colors while getting merit awards). Getting the parents involved didn't change my peers perception of me (they still hated my guts), but it sure as heck made them back off quite a bit.

Re: Bullying

Bullies, contrary to what adult shrinks think, don't usually feel bad about themselves. That's the problem with counselors and everything. Lots of them haven't been in the situation. Bullies usually pick on people for two reasons; either becuase they are better than the victim in some aspect of life, or they do not like the group the victim stereotypically fits in.
This is why you shouldn't be a sheep. Standing out doesn't attract bullies, it keeps them away. The best way to stop bullying is to not let it happen in the first place.
I'm constantly bullied, but that's because of how easy it is to parody my name. I really think nothing of verbal bullying, because unless somebody's opinion actually means something to me I won't pay attention to it. Sometimes I actually laugh along with them, because it's pretty funny. It gets tiresome, but I really need a lot of time to make a scene and pretend I'm a victim, so I normally don't like to. Especially since adults, as you said, will make a huge deal out of it but in the end there is no real improvement.
The other thing is that when you have public speakers come to talk about bullying, it doesn't work. I mean, I appreciate what they're trying to do beyond belief but it doesn't really help.

Well, I think that was my longest forum post ever. lol

See the problem is, their moms don't care. They just aren't really responsible.

But thanks for the great advice everyone.

Re: Bullying

Lots of people don't like me.

It does bother me. A lot.

Bullies just bully people because they want to feel better about themselves. Don't let it bother you, and they will leave you alone. If it gets too violent, don't fight back, but tell someone. If you see someone else being bullied, tell someone.

Re: Bullying

Surprisingly, I've never been bullied.

...I feel sheltered  tongue

But if a bully did attempt to attack me, I'd:
1. Tell the teacher.
2. If that didn't work, then I'd tell their parents.
3. If  that didn't work, I'm pretty sure bullying is a form of physical abuse, and you can report the bullies to the police. Of course, that might just make them want to get revenge on you...

Re: Bullying

In my school, everyone wears the same stuff, but I still get picked on alot.

When I was 8, I started fighting back.

The bullies' faces looked like they just caved in.

Now nobody dares to bully me. They tried bullying my friends, but it soon turned out that caved in faces could cave in deeper still.
