I was wondering how many of you quit scratch for the spring and summer cause in England I play football and tennis everyday so I have no time for scratch I'll be on to go on the forums but I don't really make projects. Does anyone else do the same?

Quit - kwit
to stop, cease, or discontinue; to cease from doing something; stop
Lets see....never opened the program in the last 5 months....yeah. I'd say I have.
Unless you count leaving the forums as well. I still use the forums.

I'll probably just use the forums for the next couple months the older i get the more scratch becomes boring. I just did it cause my cousin showed me.

I'm trying to keep using the program but I find myself using it less and less around this time - and in general I'm starting to completely use it less.
Even now I'm trying to motivate myself to finish a game I was supposed to finish and release yesterday. Now I'm worried it won't even be done this week.

Same here (except for the "finish yesterday" part). I make half a game, then I get discouraged because I have to do the graphics (usually levels) for it, which take me forever.
Which makes me wonder- how can we keep Scratch interesting?
Offline
Yea we should start something to make it more interesting any ideas?

No, I'm more Scratch active than ever! When I went up into Year 7, in Secondary School, I wasn't used to the ammount of homework I got... but in Year 8, I don't get as much, meaning more game-making for me
Offline
I was in year 8 last year but now that I'm in year 9 I have so much more work to get done so my scratch activity went down.
Offline
Hmm...maybe you should try looking at the Scratch Suggestions website. I believe there's a suggestion about mixing up the front page.

I quit once or twice, and got banned once.

+1 Year 9 has so much homework D:
Plus, I've started getting more responsibilities at school (I'm both a Peer Mentor and an English Assistant), as well as being in two plays (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (last half-term) and The Winter's Tale (in April) ), going on umpteen school trips (I went to London on Friday, I'm going to France tomorrow (and all next week), and I'm going to London again in a few weeks) and being more interested in cycling... Plus other extra-curriculars and stuff.
And, of course, choosing options for GCSE has been taking up my time... at my school, we can only pick two things freely, plus an ICT and (if we're set one for French) a language... Ideally, I'd have six free choices, so I can do Drama, Geography, Art, Graphics, Food Technology and Media Studies...
I really wish I had more time/energy/inspiration for project making at the moment...
@Soupoftomato - Year 9 is usually the 3rd year of high school (some areas do start high school in Year 9, though - areas with middle schools, but they're not the majority... and I'd guess there are some areas that start earlier than Year 7)... then it's Year 10 and 11, before Sixth Form (called College in some areas... 'round here, both are used) for two years (Upper and Lower Sixth or Year 12 and 13)

I'm not as active as I used to be. Not to be stuck up about not getting views, but I just don't have much motivation when I work really hard on a project, advertise on the forums AND in my sig, and end up with no replies on the show and tell thread besides my most recent bump and under 10 views after 3-4 weeks.
Edit: Scratch should hold official contests (monthly maybe?) and then I'd probably have more motivation to program

Well i"m not in any plays but being on both varsity tennis and football (soccer) it takes up a lot of time and all the honors classes give so much homework so scratch does not get a ton of attention from me. But your Lucky you get to go to France on trips, we don't really get to go on trips unless your in Spanish or Latin the french classes don't get to go on big trips. But you go to go to London which is pretty cool (thats where I live) But yea might quit scratch by collage

So true, and I do wonder what we can do.
I'm trying to write a really intense project to jolt people out of this and show people that they can make really interesting projects. But of course I don't know if anyone will care or even find it that great.
Also, I take back my worries about it not being complete this week, I think I can actually finish it today if I stop distracting myself. Someone tell me to get off the forums please.
