When ever I start scratch on my computor, I get some message about not being able to save and I get it twice, then instead of the normal white background, I get a huge grey block that says new game and a scrolly thing. It won't let me save or share projects. I think deleting the entire program then re-downloading it would work, but that would erase everything I have saved. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Where are all of your projects saved?

Try copying your projects into a different folder to be on the safe side
Then reinstall scratch
Copy your projects back into the Scratch Projects folder
Let me know if it works

I think I may have had this problem before, where Scratch will open in a different project every time you open it. The problem I'm thinking of, if it's the same as yours, is triggered by pressing Alt+F4 in presentation mode. The project will save, but then open every time Scratch is opened.
This can be fixed by opening a new project, so that all you see is a white background and the Scratch Cat. Then shift-click the R in the Scratch logo and click "Save image for end-user". This will make sure Scratch opens in that new project every time.
Sorry if this isn't the problem you're having, but this might work. If it doesn't work, Copy all your projects to somewhere you can easily find them, then reinstall Scratch.

Download the files only version, and double click on Scratch.image.
