It is very fast-At least in my game, the main character's image looked slightly different. I think that it makes things go faster-but it also changes images slighty. Maybe when people upload their projects online, you can give them the choice on how to present-the old way, or this new way.

I like it a lot, the loading bar looks nicer, graphics (as far as graphics go in scratch) look nicer too, a good improvement indeed.

Wish there was a love-it button on the flash player! now that scratch uses flash, does this mean you could use it as a web-app on a different site or a a stand-alone app on your computer. i wish the enlarge button went to full screen though...

I will say, this player is super fast. I mean it's no contest to the dev program and java player. Run this project in the dev program, java player, and the flash player.

System: Windows 7 home premium, Firefox
Performance: better
(tested: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Samueldora/1100000)
Built in sound: poor
(tested http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Samueldora/896335 [Bandoneon sound like an E-Organ])
More sensitive to window movements
(tested: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Samueldora/1037720)
I'd prefer the old version for the moment.

The Scratch program.

The flash player needs a Proportional Integral Derivative loop of some sort for waits (a small loop of code that takes the program's current speed, checks it against the correct speed, and then projects what changes must be made and returns a corrected value). The program's speed is too easily swayed by how much excess power the computer has, and it even seems to want to use as many resources as it can.
Swirl and fisheye are also not centered on the object.
