I need comfort in this sad time...
Please give me comfort. My dog who I've had since I was 1 or 2 is on his way to be put to sleep. We are getting the ashes back so he'll stay in our house and our lives. I'm not sure I can get through this without some comfort. He was the only comfort I had when I needed it and the only friend I could talk to. I need comfort right now.

I'm sorry..... Rip Dozie. Was he/she sick or just got a little old? Once when my chickens were outside unsupervised a fox ran in and killed 3/4 of the flock. He killed my favorite chicken. I named her Saffi. (Short for sapphire.) But losing a chicken is nothing close to losing a dog......

That is very sad. Dogs can be great companions, and they grow so close, which makes it like losing a friend when they die...
How old was it?
My cat got put down because it had a bowel and digestive problem which made it keep throwing up, and it kept internally bleeding- we didn't know, because it never showed pain (Cats are very brave animals) until one time there was blood in its litter box. We got it checked one day and it was very bad, and we found it he had been in tons of pain every day for months.... we we're so guilty
Then when I came home from school I found out he died

I know how you feel. I lost one of my dogs in a car crash. He was only 6... Anyway, just try and get through the first few days. After that, things should start to get better. I found it best to take a day off school and come back the next day. It helped to see my friends again, I was connecting back to the outside world. Try to do that, try connecting, it will help. My thoughts are with you, and RIP Dozie.
Just out of curiousity (you don't have to answer to this if you don't want to), why was Dozie put to sleep? (Again, you don't have to answer)
I might return for a little while.

That's sad. I've lost 3 rabbits total so I know how you feel. At least he lived to be a ripe old age.

No, but it didn't surprise me because I've expirenced grief before, okay? Weall have different feelings about death.
