In grade 7&8 it's basically use condoms and date safety. I got taken out of the class by my father. I complained I was being left out, and that my social life already sucks, so he allowed me to take the class.

Good for you, and no I am not promoting familial disobedience, this is something to be sorted out with your family, but it is your right to be educated, especially in matters this important.

That word is blocked by the filter.
I watched something about this in 5th grade. Girls and boys seperated. We groaned at...the things you imagined we groaned at.

The word is *.

I know what it is. When I hit Quote, it doesn't censor the word in the textbox.

Good for your father I say.

Yeah it does.

I think you're mistaken, because I can see it fine.

He meant in the quote box itself, not the "post a reply" box.

I watched that video too. When the genders got separated, well, the theories were disturbing at best. I thought it was because we didn't have the same body, but after talking to some people, I found out we watched the same thing, just that the organizers didn't want us to stare at each other in a really odd way while watching the video.
...
This my friends, I is why I do not go to public school.
Oh, you get it at every other school too. My school's science book will ruin your maturity and you will NEVER forget it.

That's what it is exactly, although when the grade 6's got it this year, they weren't seperated. I was with the most immature people in the entire school, who still hold that title today, whist having been moved to a differant school, which was bigger. So, you can imagine what torture it was.

Don't trust the videos. They say the changes usually start at about 13, but it doesn't always. Really, it wan't all that shocking. It's just the basic stuff.
Trust me, it's not what you expect. It's a lot more boring.lol, I agree

I kinda knew about this stuff in third grade, so when we got "the talk" in 7th grade i wasn't shocked or anything.
And... 13? you kidding me? they say it ranges from 8 to 14, and usually ends at 18i think
but wait, what does "And I've been through it too, so yeah." mean?![]()
oh, on an edit note:
they tend to make it sound very bad. don't believe them![]()
I know, it's not a nudge-and-giggle thing.

We got told it all starts at 13. Heh. They don't have a clue.
And I have person experience of 'the talk', I've been through the 'changes' and all that stuff.
NEVAR EVAR TRUST A SCHOOL NURSE!
Har, har, my school has never had a nurse. The lunchroom moniters, however, gah! They were, to be brutally honest with you, are the worst people I have ever met. They were sexist, mean, and paranoid. My mom has a chronic, non-contagious lung diesease, so naturally she coughs. Nothing to be worried about. She volanteered at the breakfast club. She coughed. She was kicked out. All because of the paranoid lunch moniters.
Anyway, back on topic.

Well, I had to see it in 5th grade. It's not too bad; it's only about your body and natural things. People just exaggerate when they say it's disturbing. They separated by gender for us because I think boys and girls go through different changes, but apparently, next year, we're going to learn about what happens to boys when they change and vice versa. And yes, 'bodily' is a word.

In 5th grade we watched a video like that from 1986 or something. Nothing nude is shown and it's good that they separated the genders because it would be very awkward otherwise.
It's not that scary, just some cartoons and 80's kids discussing stuff.
And question time.
Anyway it was annoying.
That's all.

So true. But we should feel grateful that we have these videos. We actually know what's going to hit us. It's kind of a shock when 'bodily changes' first hit you (I've gone through them; I should know) hit you. People in some other countries, like India, do not have videos like these to alert them. And believe me, some of the people are very superstitious about these changes. They will never mention it to you until it comes to you, but then it's too late and there is a huge mess. So, bottom line, be happy for those videos, no matter how boring, possibly 'disturbing', or strange they are. They're not so bad, as EmperorEvil and a few others have mentioned earlier.

This topic seems to have degenerated into something disturbing xD
The irony is that demosthenes kinda started it.
On a completely unrelated note, I completely agree with 08jackt.

When I watched it, I already knew about everything about this stuff.
And more.
The older kids at school teach you a lot of things, man.

It's bad news when you find you know the meaning of over a dozen words that should not exactly be used in public.
I'm doomed.
EDIT:The worse thing is, it's not the older kids at school. My level is the highest in my school. It's my friends. Besides, even without older kids, my friends still go on Wikipedia and...
