i have an odd obsession with my oboe reeds
from the beginning of 5th grade to now i've kept 20...25?
I'll upload pictures because they're filling up a drawer by the time I'm in 10 grade it might be overflowing
Although I never break them now so yeah
talk about weird obsessions or collections guys
and no legos and nerf guns aren't strange they're just unoriginal

Ah, I'm obsessed with toothpaste caps. I have like, 9? Toothpaste tubes last longer than you think, so it's hard to get them without wasting a tube.
And don't even ask why I collect them.

ive heard it's a lot more fun to play oboe. here's a quote from some forum
"i switched from the Clarinet to the oboe two years ago, it was the best decison of my life. First off, YES it is hard to play, but it is worth it. If you do rent first, remeber that it will sound bad at the begining and it takes time. If you have the patience then definatly try the oboe"
or maybe
"I completely agree with Adam Parnell. There is a lot of technique involved in playing the oboe that sometimes just comes with experience. I`ve been playing the oboe for about a year and a half(switched over from clarinet), and have progressed incredibly with all of the new opportunities that have been given to me- DCYO, DCYO woodwind quintet, ect. The more you play, the more you learn, and there is always something new to learn with the oboe"
and
"... The Oboe is my first choice, it has a brilliant sound to it..."
if thats not enough
" The oboe is not an easy instument to learn. It is quite fun though"
to top it off
"I've been playing the Clarinet for four years, and in my first year I learned all the notes in about two weeks. It was really easy. It's a pretty simple instrument to play. Each note is one finger after another, unlike the Oboe, which is one of the hardest instruments to learn how to play."

i never let people touch my drum set
if they even look at it like they want to play it, i'll yell at them
probably because a few years back i broke my sister's drum set so i've been careful about letting people use mine
also i don't even know what a reed is
i play the cello

the oboe uses the double one FOR THE RECORD it's about 3 times harder to play than a simple block of clarinet reed
oh i know this kid tristan he carries his drum sticks all around school and the practice kit is in his locker
he likes to show off all the time so i would know

Pretty much every drummer I know IRL messes with the sticks playing on backpacks and tables sometimes.
About my obsessions, I don't know. But some weeks ago I decided to start collecting those silica gel bags you get in shoe boxes and stuff, for the hell of it.

i don't like play that huge kettle drum thing in band or glockenspiel or anything like that though and i think thats probably what you're talking about because i've never heard anyone refer to drummers (like drum drummers not band class drum drummers) as percussionists even though thats technically what they are so yeah whatever
oh and i play the triangle too
but yeah i'm still learning with that one
hmm anyway yeah
obsessions
i don't really have many
not any that i can think of now at least
well
i kind of keep like memorabilia from everything on this bulletin board in my room
like it's filled with old name tags and sticky notes and baseball tickets and stuff

The 3 drummers I know love messing around in class and have a pretty particular personality, haha. One of them is a pretty good one who can play pretty much anything, he's in our metal band
But if by percussionist you mean xylophonists and the such, no they're not that good.
Talented drummers can be awesome, though.

Percussionist at my school includes snare, bass, that one rock stars play with all of them, triangle, cymbals. And more.
And when they can't play it, they take a zero, and one time they played like one note the whole song.

But those are drums to be played individually, I assume. Real drummers play them all coordinately at the same time ;P

What? It's a percussionist. I don't get how it's "fake" unless you say they have talent.
And i said about the rock start combo thing, those are coordinately.
