It's like I'm re-living a part of Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
You know how in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth, Greg had to watch that video about "Bodily Changes"?
Guess what? I'm watching a movie about "Bodily Changes" next month. Hoorah.
They're even seperating the girls and boys. I WONDER WHY.
So yeah, dicussificationilary what I should expect and if you've ever had any experience with this stuffs and whatnot.

I watched that video too. When the genders got separated, well, the theories were disturbing at best. I thought it was because we didn't have the same body, but after talking to some people, I found out we watched the same thing, just that the organizers didn't want us to stare at each other in a really odd way while watching the video.

We had something like that last year, except it was on one of those old "overhead" things.
I can tell you, everyone in there was like O_O (unless they already knew the stuff, like me). We are supposed to have another one next year (7th grade) where they explain even more. Not looking forward to it.
We were separated by gender too, but got the same info.
Expect to be in shock (unless you already know most of what they tell you).

I don't know if this is really appropriate for Scratch. Can a mod please look this over? I found the video VERY disturbing, so I'm not sure if we should be discussing it :I

I've seen loads. And I've been through it too, so yeah.
Don't trust the videos. They say the changes usually start at about 13, but it doesn't always. Really, it wan't all that shocking. It's just the basic stuff.
Trust me, it's not what you expect. It's a lot more boring.

lol, I agree
I kinda knew about this stuff in third grade, so when we got "the talk" in 7th grade i wasn't shocked or anything.
And... 13? you kidding me? they say it ranges from 8 to 14, and usually ends at 18
i think
but wait, what does "And I've been through it too, so yeah." mean?
oh, on an edit note:
they tend to make it sound very bad. don't believe them

If you think this is bad, you don't want to know about the board game we played in school once.

I know, it's not a nudge-and-giggle thing.
We got told it all starts at 13. Heh. They don't have a clue.
And I have person experience of 'the talk', I've been through the 'changes' and all that stuff.

I found the classes boring. I took them such a long time ago though that I can't really remember much, except that they were boring and slightly awkward. Thats it...

It's unfortunate that the issue is made uncomfortable for you, although not altogether surprising. Culture nowadays has a peculiar taboo about all things related to the bodies' development and about sexual education.
It is crucial that all this material is taught, however, as it allows young children and teenagers to understand their body and to make responsible decisions in the future.
Anyway, it has always been my understanding that they separate the boys and girls because boys may feel more comfortable asking questions when they are with only boys and vice versa.
