c# , c++ , vb , basic or Java.
if you want to make really good games , you want to stick with object oriented programming languishes and want to go 3D i would suggest unity. the sanded version is free.Look what I made with it.

Personally I would do it like this, with things you didn't include in bold:
Stencyl -> Flash with ActionScript -> Batch -> HTML/CSS/XML -> VB -> Python -> JS -> PHP -> SQL -> Squeak -> Perl -> C# -> Java -> Ruby -> C++ -> Algol 68 -> Machine Code

Stencyl -> Batch -> HTML/CSS/XML -> JS -> PHP/Python -> SQL -> Flash -> Smalltalk (Squeak) -> VB -> Ruby -> Perl -> C++ -> Java -> C# -/> Assembly Language -> Machine Code
Algol 68 is never used anymore.
