Re: What's the next programming language after scratch?

There's no real "next" one.  There are different, more advanced languages, but no "next" one.  Try Flash or Stencyl.

Re: What's the next programming language after scratch?

Stencyl could kinda be considered closest to next IMO, block-based and stuff.

Used flash used stencyl.

Then start using them more.  Or try C++ or something.

Re: What's the next programming language after scratch?

This isn't a language, but...

Try learning to program games that use Source.

I'd love to see what you'd come up with.

Re: What's the next programming language after scratch?

Try Python. It is becoming increasingly popular and is very easy to use.

JavaScript has nothing to do with Java.  tongue

However I do suggest both.

IIRC they have a similar syntax format or something, but javascript is for web purposes while java... Well, isn't.  tongue

Re: What's the next programming language after scratch?

It could be anything. I was able to jump into C++ because of Scratch and some of my other classmates were able to jump into Java as well; but maybe you'll want to try a different programming language instead. Why not try researching a programming language to see what types of areas it can be used for and make your decision from there?  smile
