Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

Welcome to the New Scratchers forum!

The New Scratchers Forum is a place where new members introduce themselves and become familiar with some of the different areas of the Scratch Forums.

We invite you to make your own introductory post here if you want - maybe tell us what you hope to do with Scratch, or about some of your interests.   Or, ask a question you might have about Scratch or the forums.

Please save posts about non-Scratch stuff for the Things I'm Making and Creating or the Things I'm Reading and Playing forums, if your topic fits into those categories.

Also, please don't use the forums for chatting - there are better sites for that outside of Scratch.

For more information, please take a look at the Important and Helpful Topics guide - it will show you a lot of useful stuff.

Take a look around and I hope you have a great time - Scratch on!

Re: Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

This is much needed. I see people advertise their projects in new scratch members, and this will probably help with that.  wink

Re: Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

Well said, Paddle2See. You see so much spam from newbies who don't know the rules yet. I should know, I accidentally posted an unrelated in the New Members forums when I was new - there was no guide like this telling me otherwise.  smile

Re: Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

Would it be bad to link to the Scratch Wiki in the topic post?  tongue

Anyway, this is a good topic  big_smile

What type of link are you thinking of? A link to a specific article, or a link to the Wiki in general?  smile

HTML doesn't work here.  look at BBCode.

also, don't spam.

I think Rocketchurocks was a New Scratcher when he/she did that.

Great guide, Paddle2See!! Very informal for the newbies. I sure wish it was here when I was a New Scratcher before.  wink

I'm guessing the main page...

I support any link to the wiki though  big_smile

Re: Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

I have a question.  How do you get your status changed from "New Scratcher" to "Scratcher"?  Do you have to have a certain number of Scratch Forum posts?  Also, how do you put a picture in your post? Please tell me.

Hey Rexpup! Maybe this topic will answer your question. Basically, after a while, if you're active and helpful on the forums and website, your account will upgrade to "Scratcher" status and you'll have glorious new privileges that you didn't have before.

Hey ecolon, what you are looking for is an animated GIF image. You can download a pre-made GIF image to your computer and upload it, request for someone to make one for you in the Requests forum, or maybe even learn to make one yourself in GIMP.  smile

Take multiple images and stick them all together using a program like gifninja (look it up) XD

Re: Guidelines for New Scratchers Forum

I am new to scratch so forgive my ignorance.  I would like to create a numerology game.  In this a cartoon character shakes and rolls a dice. (later develop to 3 dice)  I would like to enter the shake sound and the rolling sound.  I would like to add the definition to the number after the number is thrown and be able to print off the information.  Is this possible?
