why don't you make an announcement project instead of that "nomomomomomomom" thing? I would but Scratch isn't available right now
Good idea! I'll try that.

Or maybe we should all just make good projects.

C'mon guys, these are funny. Sure call me a troll, give me a rage face, call me forever alone, but I will think its funny!
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. I mean, really? come on. It takes SKILL to program a good game, debug, make graphics, etc. it takes NO SKILL to make 2 projects (2 of them are the same) with nothing but the letters L and O.

I understand your point of view, but, this is madness. Let scratchers do what they want! Besides being rude or showing 'bad' things of course.
It's distraction of the masses. Crowd theory. They've been tricked that that's the best Scratch is capable of, when it clearly isn't.
YES! Give the man a silver dollar! And I have a great idea on how to fix the front page! It likely won't do much, but maybe it'll help just a teensy bit...

This is going to be better than Om Nom Nom. I can feel it.

Oo! An opportunity to advertise my idea!
Stuff like this wouldn't happen if we changed the "What the Community is ___" rows to randomly show projects from the top 10 (or 20 or 30). Not only would "fame" be more spread out, but it would be impossible for an individual Scratcher to campaign for certain projects to be on the front page at the same time. If you'd like to vote for my idea, click on my sig. If you'd like to read more about my idea, click here.

Ack! One love-it away!
Good idea scmb1, but in short term right now, we're done for.
This seems like a declaration that famous Scratchers can post what they like and reach the front page. If Oramis did this, or frank1281, or whoever, it wouldn't reach the front page and no one would care.

yayyyyyy
You are completely missing the point. We don't want them on the front page at all.

Ha! The first L has enough love-its but it's been denied access due to JIM's first project on the front page! Then they'll only manage to get the first L after JIM's first project is gone. I still don't want any of it on the front page, but this eases my outrage a little.
A little.

The Epic battle, Kileymeister, agescratcher, RHY, and many others vs the Wasteland that scratch is slowly becoming thanks to people that favorite POINTLESS, EFFORTLESS, LAME, (insert more synonyms here) projects, I get mad when I surf scratch and find many unrecognized talent that actually deserves the be on the front page, Even though where outnumbered by a lot of scratchers and most of the scratch team, we must keep fighting and maybe (just maybe) scratch.mit.edu will return to its roots, GOOD, AMAZING, and awesome projects that show effort back on the front page.

Jack's right. We're trying to prevent it with all of our might, but if it just so happens to slip through our fingers, we can mess with it all we want.

A little.
So I guess we're safe for about 7 days, or however long Top Viewed lasts.
Of course the problem still stands of winning the public's minds.

simple.
it is not going to work.
all 3 of the accounts are made by the same person there for all the uses have the same IP address and the front page code only lets 1 IP address have one of its projects on the front page. (i think)

We already know that, but still, how do we get their MINDS off him? That's the problem.

Clearly, people enjoy projects much more if they have a bit of humor in them. Perhaps a mix of game and humor could help in "winning the minds of the public"?
