So I guess we all are.
By that definition I'm both
but I don't think I'm really either. Some people say I'm a nerd but my mom disagrees. More people call me geeks but my mom disagrees to that as well.

I'm not a geek. I'm pretty chill in real life and I'm fashionable. I normally get labelled 'emo' or 'chav'.
And 'that creepy stalker'.

I'm a geek. This is because:
- When I am bored I learn as many digits of pi as possible. At the moment that is 236.
- I enjoy maths.
- I know 15 programming languages.
- I spend all day on my laptop, and I never play games on it, only program.
- I don't have a life.
- I want to be a mathematician when I grow up.
- I solve quadratic equations for fun.
- I am useless with girls.
- I have roughly 20 tabs opeen at once on Firefox.
- I find mathematical jokes funny.
- Etc.
It's isn't too bad though.
But I'd rather be normal.

if you're using the typical definition that kids these days tend to use, then no
i'm more of a cool kid who's pretty smart but gets horrible grades because she hates doing work
so yeah
but if you're talking about being an "enthusiast" for something, then no to that too
well kind of
i'm a bit of an art enthusiast i suppose but it's not like obsessive or anything

It annoys me when people are proud of the name.
I mean if you love computer programming(*cough* STUPID*cough*) that's fine but do it because you love it, not because you want to be classified in some stupid stereotype. That's right.
STUPID STEREOTYPE.
Anyways I am a history geek but as for other things...:
- Pi jokes make me want to throw up repeatedly and smash the person's head off a Siberian cliff into a raging Icelandic volcano hundreds of miles away)
- I HATE MATH. HATE. H-A-T-E MATH. HATE. THAT'S THE ONLY WORD I CAN USE WITHOUT GETTING BANNED. Okay onto the next thing c:
- I know how to use Autodesk Inventor but not really any programming junk, and i totally don't want to.
- i play games on my computer and don't program my animations unless I'm reallllly bored
- i don't have a life though
- i want to have a job that has 0% to do with math and life will be complete if I can skip math in college or something (yeah right jackalope)
- i don't do my math homework and skip it as long as i can trick the teacher
- i hate everyone (i dont know how that relates but whatever)
argh i was using a bit o' proper language the first part. darn language class what has it done to me? :C
anyways id much rather be doodling and reading a good history dateline than finding out "Python-korean theory for right triangles" or whatever the heck i "learned" yesterday
notice how "learned" is in quotations

Not to make anyone feel bad, but I checked the dictionary, and those are the correct definitions. Please don't insult yourselves. A person with great enthusiasm for something is a passionate person, a person with great knowledge about a certain subject is usually called a professional. Sorry for sounding so harsh, but you guys are using the slang definition of the word geek and nerd. It just irritates me that people think those are the real definitions. But if we are speaking slang here, I stand corrected.
P.S. I still assume that geek and nerd are an insult, sorry to not agree with you, and I respect your opinions, I just want to clarify the definitions of "nerd" and "geek". C:Actually, the way you're using it is also slang. To tell the truth- the entire word is slang.
Bingo.
P.S. I just realized that 7/10 items on my bookmarks bar are somehow tech-related: Scratch, Engadget, AnandTech, Tom's Hardware, Newegg, a folder for video game web comics, and another folder for other miscellaneous tech-related stuff. XD

i'm not in any stereotype because all of my attributes cancel the others out
for example:
-i like creepy stuff and blood but hate horror movies
-im energetic but hate to do any work
- im one of the smartest people in my classes except for math where i fail most tests
- i like anime but hate okatu weaboos and "chibi kitty" fuzzy hats
- im really good at swimming and am an above average swimmer but haven't gotten a volleyball over the net in forever and a day//im cursed

I think winning the school spelling bee 2 years in a row, winning the school geography bee this year, getting top 10 in the regional spelling bee last year, and qualifying for the state geography bee already qualifies me as a nerd, not to mention that I carry around way too many thick books and am obsessed with history. Seriously, this is my current reading book:

I DO program and do other tech-related stuff because I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way. But we nerds and geeks take pride in our passion just like anyone else. You're foolish to suggest that we do it for any sort of status. And well, if you hate it, that's your own business I guess. Your loss, just don't be so rude about it.

Not sure what you call that then. Math is involved in every aspect of our lives nowadays, most notably the thing you are using right now.
