Tough question. I might be, but I don't know.
Is involvement in drama associated with geekiness anymore? It used to be where I am.

What kinda dictionary is that? Urban Dictionary?
Still, that's a stupid (insulting) definition.

"Geek - A carnival performer who does wild and disgusting acts, esp. those involving biting off the heads of small animals."
Straight from the dictionary. except for that last part

It's not insulting if you want it to be.

A geek is any person with great enthusiasm for something. You can be a computer geek, anime geek, or even an art geek. I would classify myself as a tech geek, personally.
P.S. I strongly disagree with the opinion that "geek" is an insulting term. I take great pride in that title.

Not to make anyone feel bad, but I checked the dictionary, and those are the correct definitions. Please don't insult yourselves. A person with great enthusiasm for something is a passionate person, a person with great knowledge about a certain subject is usually called a professional. Sorry for sounding so harsh, but you guys are using the slang definition of the word geek and nerd. It just irritates me that people think those are the real definitions. But if we are speaking slang here, I stand corrected.
P.S. I still assume that geek and nerd are an insult, sorry to not agree with you, and I respect your opinions, I just want to clarify the definitions of "nerd" and "geek". C:

Agreed with EVERYTHING in that post. A lot of the people here don't realize that we are talking slang, not dictionary definitions.

Actually, the way you're using it is also slang. To tell the truth- the entire word is slang.
