Expect the Unexpected

How do you do that? It's a common phrase, that's like a paradox!

Let's say X is unexpected.
Well, we should expect x to come because we follow the above phrase.
Now that it's expected, we don't need to expect it anymore.
Then X is unexpected.

Do you get it?

Re: Expect the Unexpected

Since it's a paradox, this means Chad Vader was lying.

The most likely is usually the answer.

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! INCORRECT!

X is unexpected.
So we should expect X.
IF IT'S EXPECTED, THEN THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULDN'T EXPECT IT.

You see, your phrase states that you should Expect the Unexpected. It never said anything about not expecting the expected.

Therefor, that makes your statement #3, stating that we shouldn't expect X because it is expected, false.

In conclusion, If X is unexpected, it IS expected. And that's it, it doesn't go around in a loop creating a paradox.

BUT, if it said "expect the unexpected and don't expect the expected", then it WOULD go into an infinite loop creating a paradox.

Thank you for your time.

I don't see how that could be a paradox.

X is most likely to be the answer.
So X is the answer.

An answer to a question is not most likely to be the answer, it IS the answer.

Therefor, your "paradox" is incorrect, and therefor, not being a paradox at all.

Did I say it was a paradox... no.

Re: Expect the Unexpected

It means you should look out for things that aren't ordinary, or fishy looking.

Then why did you post it? Gotcha.
