Re: Archmage's really neato collab

I've finished the title and I'm working on the graphics. For some reason, I can't open the 2shared link. Can you reupload http://www.2shared.com/file/wMjK5shU/Archmages_collab_opening_intro.html? Thanks

Check the archtest account for the version with HQ.

HQ only swaps monster order, thats it. You can use it when you are 7+ monsters (that is the only time you need it).

If you download it there are scripts (in the tools sprite) that let you clone the last monster, use this to test HQ.

After sleeping I'll do graphics for everything with place holders and then bosses when mkolpnji is done.

I tested it with less than 7 monsters, and it still seems to work.
Anyway, editing now.

The issue with that is that with less than 6 you can make it so that monster slot 5 is empty and 6 is full, this probally would mess stuff up. Perhaps I can fix this later, get rid of the ask switcher.

Amazing, a title screen truly worthy of this game.

Sorry, but I can't accept any more graphics after today, the deadline is too close.

Here are things you can make:

-graphics for the main menu (hospital, HQ, battle field.)
-game is won screen

Can you also include the current title screen and cut scene to the project? Also make an option to skip the cutscene.

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

Ok, I'm not done editing yet but here are the changes I implemented so far.
-headquarters now works with any amount of caught monsters, doesn't use the ask command anymore.
-dojo has been updated so that it is easily updatable when adding moves.
-Added title
-Added (incomplete still) intro.

I will add a moves and monsters now.

All the stuff I said I did above +
-Will detect if you started the project for the first time or not. You can reset it back to a new game using one of the admin tools.
-3 new attacks.
-1 new monster.
-EXP more balanced.
-Renamed names of monsters that didn't have names before.
-Made all of the monsters have different <leveling values.
-Other stuff I've forgotten about.

Oh yeah, archmage, make sure you make all the variables that are shown in the project visible before uploading or saving. For some odd reason, Scratch reverts the variables back to their normal form if you don't do that.

Hey archmage, can you fix a tiny little mistake at made?
In the attack_modtype list, can you replace item 12 with "-" and add item 13 with "2"?
I accidently forgot to do that, so currently glare is a useless move.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

Oh man its 3 am here and I am bushed!

Check archtest for updates.

Still need to put in the dark lords, for those, just make it a monster with set stats (higher than normal) and make a sprite appear over it covering the stamped monster.

EDIT:
Err I think I broke it, it skips the intro. All the graphics are there tho, and thats all I did. All that needs to be done is transfer the graphics to a working version.

You didn't break it, you just have to reset it back to a newgame using an admin tool.

Ok, for the dark lords, there are going to be monsters. The dark lords will have their own shape so their monster list is like only 5 values. Still need to get a Win and Lose screen.

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

Uploading V36 right now with functional dark lords. They are coded as typical monsters with 3 points of leveling for all statistics. Each boss is 5 levels higher. Please test it from the archtest account and make sure its OK.

Winning and losing screens still look bad.

Tested.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mkolpnji_test/1631823

-Fixed some bugs concerning bosses.
-Rebalanced EXP stuff.
-Balanced catch rates, was just a little too hard before.
-Changed random move generator for enemies so they always have an attack move.
just a note, make sure before you upload the final version that you reset it back to a new game using the admin tool.

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

How do you feel about calling it a final version once the victory and loss images are done? Would it be ok if I uploaded the project to my account or should it be uploaded to another account?

Yeah, that works.
Also, we still need to implement a back button during battle. The problem is, if you don't have any items, and you click on the items button, you get stuck.

And I think it would be best uploaded to your account. That way we get more views.  tongue
