Re: Beta Flash player

I have Ubuntu 10.10 and before, I could never see any scratch projects. So I always had to download them just to see one. Now, when I clicked flash, I can see all projects as I did before I had Linux. It's great, it works, it's fast, and it solves the " Cannot view any projects with Linux " problem. Thank you scratch team!

Re: Beta Flash player

Fantastic! Although it would be nice to have a pause/play button, and a volume controll.

Nice addition to scrach!

You're computer should be able to change it's system volume, unless you have other music playing on your computer, that'd be a nice addition.

You're computer should be able to change it's system volume, unless you have other music playing on your computer, that'd be a nice addition.

In Windows, by clicking the volume icon and selecting "Mixer", you can choose how loud each program is.

Re: Beta Flash player

most people "exploit" the Java player so their games work. Using the flash player just makes the game rubbish.

How about adding a 'TURBO SPEED' button?
Just an idea!

I was hoping someone would ask.... Shift-click on the green flag to toggle Turbo Mode.

Note that Turbo Mode can make game and other interactive Scratch projects much too fast. Also, it doesn't speed up graphical operations such as image effects, rotation, or scaling. Turbo Mode is intended for non-interactive projects that do a lot of computation, such as Canthiar's Ray Tracer program. For example, in my tests, the Ray Tracer used to take 30 minutes to draw the entire screen using the Java Player. Using the Flash-based Player in Turbo Mode, it takes under a minute.

Enjoy!

Re: Beta Flash player

The flash player makes you win when you press the green flag, but when I use the Java player it works fine. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/spongebobguy/1601046

Re: Beta Flash player

I have noticed that with Windows7, to really go to full screen you need to
put Windows Explorer in full screen mode first. ( click tools button then full screen)

Also there is a one shot thing. You have to reload the project to do it again.

Re: Beta Flash player

It takes much longer to load a project than Java, and the project only works if you click on the first frame several times. So far, however, I like this better because it has better quality than Java. I can actually SEE the projects on the browser!

Ah, I use Ubuntu 10.10 too (and so does Andresmh, by the way)! But you can view projects with Linux - you just need to install the Java Virtual machine.
