How does one's username and avatar influence your perspective?

What do you think of a person when you look at their username and/or avatar? How does it influence your perspective of them?

My opinion:
The avatar and the username are only partial to my perspective of a person. You can tell about usernames whether the owner of them just slopped down the easiest thing to remember or if they took the time to consider their username. With an avatar, most of the times you can tell something about the user's personality and their interests.

If the username is short and not capitalized, I assume that they're young. I don't usually assume gender based on username, but by avatar/signature. If their avatar is of one of those cats that lick your screen over and over again, I assume that they're a girl.

Like you?

And about telling personality/interest, I don't like (have never tried) tomato soup. But I don't like tomatoes.

Re: How does one's username and avatar influence your perspective?

I took the time to consider my username. I've always been interested in warriors cats and it is spelled correctly.

Re: How does one's username and avatar influence your perspective?

I don't take that too much into account; I take their words and views into account.

Which explains why I took only a matter of minutes to decide on a username.

Re: How does one's username and avatar influence your perspective?

I don't really care about the avatar, sometimes the username maybe, but not too much. Mine is so simple. "ih".
