We had our thread about Egypt before, but the turmoil in the Middle East hasn't ended there. A huge revolt is going on in Libya right now, with the country's leader, Gadhafi, having his army kill protesters. Today in social studies my teacher compared him to Hitler in than he may be insane and will fight to the end to maintain his power.
Also, there are revolts in Bahrain and Yemen, and it just seems like the whole region is in trouble. Already oil prices are skyrocketing, and they may continue spiking.
Discuss the issues here; what's going on, what you think should be done, etc.

It's crazy how many countries in that region are revolting. I think a lot of countries are seeing the success Egypt had and deciding to buck their unjust governments as well. Obviously there have been mixed results, with some not turning out well. There is some pretty gruesome video online showing all sorts of awful things the Libyan army is doing to protesters. It makes me sick.

What these armies are doing to protesters should make us treasure our freedoms that we have even more. As we're seeing, a lot of these countries don't have that and people are getting killed for what they're saying.

Well, Eygpt was following another country...can't remember the name. It is sad that these people were put in the position so that they feel like there only way of survival is to protest like this, but they seemed to be having more success than the typical protest rate, due to the high media attention on them.

Tunisia would be the other country you're looking for. I remember when I first saw news about Tunisia; I didn't think much of it at the time, but just look at what it's started...

Not necessarily, but people won't drive as much if gas is $4 a gallon.

That would be turmoil. Ha. Ha.
But anyway... yeah, it's pretty crazy over there. I'm glad they're trying to do something about their awful rulers though.

The Middle East has been in turmoil since 1900.
'Nuff said.
Yes, but how often have there been 5 revolts in 2 months, with another country splitting itself?
