Now I also want to wait for the SHAtter exploit...xD
Why? Just use Greenpois0n. You can always go to SHAtter... if it ever comes out.

greenpois0n was gonna use SHAtter, but it didn't.
SHAtter is an exploit in the bootrom, and that is a big achievement. Apple has to make changes at the hardware level, which means they can't update current iPods, they have to edit the hardware inside the device, so old ones (like mine) are exploited for life.
Maybe even up to iOS 6.0! xD
As soon as it comes out, that is.
Everything is back to normal now.
(yes, that's a case)

I understand that. But as long as they can find other exploits, they will. No sense tipping their hand until they have to. That's why Greenpois0n was revised to use the Limer1an exploit instead; no one wanted two exploits out at once, because Apple could just fix them both at the same time.

Limer1an.
I know it started using the limera1n exploit. But I have one question: how can apple fix bootrom exploits in old devices? Kicking your door down and demanding the device back?

I made a video of me unboxing the iPod, before I even turned on the iPod for the first time. I also made one of me setting it up. I edited the videos to remove some personal information such as *ahem* address and full name.

It could be using a modified version of limera1n that isn't really released, or that was only or when greenpois0n was for 4.1.

Sorry to hear about your iTouch screen breaking, but I am happy to hear it got replaced.
And I am soo tempted to jailbreak my iTouch 2G again for the third time. But really, has no one ever used Spirit? Untethered and 1-click jailbreak.

I'm not sure about Limera1n itself, but Greenspois0n, which uses the same exploit, has been updated for iOS 4.2.

Spirit is rather old and if I'm correct, doesn't work with iOS 4.x.

Actually, I remember reading somewhere that it does work for iOS 4.1 and maybe 4.2.
