As of this writing, I've had this iPod for only 62 days (yes, 62, I got it on christmas) as of this writing..
I'm gonna get it repaired or replaced, but either way I'm wiping the hard drive on it because 1) if it's replaced someone could access my data even if I do a simple restore in iTunes and 2) it's jailbroken, if it ends up at Apple to get repaired (you never know) they will discover it. I'm just not doing it right now.
It atleast still works, so I can backup.

Yeah, those screens have a tendency to shatter. My sister had hers for less than a month and she dropped in on its corner without a case. (On tarmac, too) Like you said, at least it works. I don't see why Apple would refuse to replace a screen because it's jailbroken, but I guess a voided warranty is a voided warranty. Do you know how much they want to fix it? It's usually a lot.

Apple hates jailbroken devices, but they can't stop it. If iTunes only lets you restore a connected jailbroken device, the world will explode Apple. There are ways to hide evidence, such as wiping everything, a restore only makes it appear that it's gone.
Plus, the device could get lost somehow and someone could find it. I would make them mad with a completely erased iPod. xD

Forget the fact it's jailbroken. It's cracked, I'm gonna replace it or repair it, but I'm still wiping it.

I don't know why, but this looks like VFX.

I'll tell you, it's not. My iPod touch actually has a cracked screen. I restored it several times, even did it in DFU mode, now I rejailbroke and got iWipe which zeros out free space. I'm doing ANYTHING to be sure my data is unrecoverable.

You do know you can set a pass code, then again...

I'm gonna be sending this in to be repaired or replaced. There are programs that can get inside the iPhone file system (because iOS was called iPhone OS before) and get all my data, even recover deleted data! I just used a program to zero out free space, then did ANOTHER restore to kill the jailbreak, and now it's ready to be taken to Best Buy (it was gotten there, and we have insurance!)

I just got a replacement! We had protection from BestBuy, so we replaced it ANNND got a hard case!

It was free to get a replacement, but we paid to extend the warranty (which we did) and to get a case with screen protectors.
I'll rejailbreak after I make a video of me unboxing it.
That's right, the box isn't open yet!
However, Best Buy took out the cable and headphones because we didn't bring the original ones. But that's the only change.
