Fullscreen Mode - Not Fullscreen?
I updated my graphics card drivers, and changed the screen resolution, and now fullscreen mode doesn't change the size of the play window, it just makes the surrounding area black.

Hm... it sounds like a problem with the drivers. If I recall correctly, fullscreen mode does something with your resolution to achieve the larger effect. I would try rolling back your graphics card driver if the update wasn't necessary.
