the lock above direction in the middle column of the Scratch screen

The lock shows a red line associated to it whether it's locked or unlocked. When we press green flag, even when we pulled away the pen commands, it still drew a red line. We've tried everything we know, but haven't stopped the red line from appearing.

Thanks for any help.

This should go in Troubleshooting  smile

Did you intentionally draw the red line with the pen? If so, try using the [blocks]<clear>[/block] block to erase all pen drawings.  smile

Re: the lock above direction in the middle column of the Scratch screen

Pressing the green flag doesn't reset the pen...even if you don't have any pen blocks in the script, if the pen is down, it will remain down until you call [pen up]. Just double-click that block to stop the sprite from making trails.

Oh...moved to Troubleshooting.

This should be all about scratch. There's nothing wrong with the program.

Re: the lock above direction in the middle column of the Scratch screen

The lock has nothing to do with the pen - its purpose is to enable dragging the sprite online and in presentation mode.

Like fullmoon and OldWheezerGeezer said, use the "pen up" block to stop the sprite from making lines and "clear" to remove them from the screen.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Perhaps you could upload your project to the website?  It's much easier to figure out what is going on if we can see the scripts.
