Limera1n doesn't work on 4.2.1. What version of iOS is on your iPod touch? (settings -> general -> about and read version)

If you try limera1n on 4.2.1, you restore. That's my experience.

What I said was to upgrade with iTunes (if you installed stuff from cydia, restore recommended), then use greenpois0n to rejailbreak and then Loader.app works. Greenpois0n doesn't require for you to download iOS firmware (aka IPSW) from a site.

Plus, you should be on 4.2.1 and not 4.1.

If you do so choose to use the redsn0w method (i don't recommend it), don't use an IPSW for 4.2.1 when you have iOS 4.1 installed.

But it's recommended people go on 4.2.1, greenpois0n works on that.

Well if they upgraded, then greenpois0n or redsn0w is their only option.

Greenpois0n does the same thing as limera1n: it's untethered, and lets you install cydia. From my experience, redsn0w is tethered (for windows only i think)

redsn0w is that for ALL platforms.
