OK. Do the trees work for you?

Graphics definitely need some work. I think I could make it so trees spawn with leaves on their sides too.

Yeah, I didn't know if I could change them , if they would glitch. Can I add a few things (crafting, cobblestone) when you're done?

I'm done- anyone else can edit it now.  smile

Just a few physics changes- there shouldn't be many glitches from you importing your stuff.

By .05, I mean I updated Necromaster's .04.

What are the problems? It could be that it created a whole new variable...

Got it fixed. Made better tree art. Added cobble. Now onto crafting!

Crafting and tools? I'm doing them right now  big_smile

Any minecraft-y suggestions? I'm adding a 'Cobble-bricks' block made with 4 cobblestone.

Iron and Obsidian stairs maybe, when I finish the mining minigame.  wink

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

Wait, we're adding obsidian? How will you get it? Stairs should make it so you go up a block like normal, and they should face away from the way the character is facing when placed. Also, are we making it so that placed blocks are written to the list?

Well, the mining minigame I'm making lets you mine obsidian (if you manage to go very deep without falling into lava) and other minerals, and I was thinking it would replace generating chunks underground. Also it feels more like the original in the way that you don't know what you'll find, underground chunks would reveal all the minerals and it'd be boring ;P

Placed blocks should be placed to the list IMO, that's necessary to let users save/load levels as lists.

EDIT: Also more suggestions for crafting. Why not some furniture:

Code:

S = Stick
P = Wooden Plank
T = Torch
G = Glass

P..
PP. = Chair!
SS.

...
PPP = Table. Placing many of them together would cause them to link like chests in the original MC.
S.S

P..
PPP = Bed.
S.S

.S.
TGT = Chandelier
...

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

Well, we won't be having day/night sequences because it's rather impossible with the way we delete blocks (instead of erasing, which you can't do in Scratch, the sky color is placed upon where the block would be).

And of course placed blocks need to be written to the lists- otherwise we can't load chunks!

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

Kay. Adding a sort of saving system. You can hit 'save' and then you can stop it and save as a new project. Next time you start, it will be the same.

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

Well, you shouldn't have to hit save- it should save the block type to a list so it can be recalled when a new chunk is visited. I guess I can finish that though, so you probably shouldn't work on the save.

No, no, no, I hafta finish crafting. Never mind on the saving, it only saves one chunk so you can come back and play later.q

But then it'll have to rerender every single block w/different brightness.
