Just remembered my question!
Will you be able to change the apperance of the mouse pointer in 2.0?
Hmm... probably not. Does that seem like an important feature? If so, you should make a Scratch suggestion to suggest it, and get others to vote on it!

I'm sure there is one of those already...

Ah, cool - thanks for finding it! As you can see, it's not too high on the list. If you feel it's important, by all means start a forum thread in suggestions in support of it, and ask your friends to give it votes! It'd also be good to discuss he best way to implement it. It's pretty easy to make a sprite follow the mouse (just use forever > go to mouse x mouse y) So all you'd really need to do would be to have the sprite of your new pointer follow the mouse, and tell Scratch to turn off the display of the normal mouse pointer.

This all sounds awesome! But when this comes out could you still upload files made with 1.4?
When does it come out anyway?
Oh, and you should make obsolete blocks work online! That would be like the best feature of 2.0!

According to the Scratch 2.0 FAQ, there will be support for older versions of Scratch, and Scratch 2.0 will open projects made in older versions - so I suppose you could upload from there. And it says that they (the Scratch Team) expect to release Scratch 2.0 sometime in 2011.

Thanks, Jonathanpb, for answering! It's really helpful when Scratchers point other Scratchers to info like this.

What do you think about the obsolete blocks working online? There could be a thing called 'Scratch Blocks' (like Scratch Resources) and from there you could download blocks. Everyone could add blocks and install blocks. I am sure you could make the block installation much easier (maybe even one click). I know some blocks could be unsafe e.g the internet block. But hten there could be a message saying eg 'this projects contains some unsafe blocks! Are you sure you want to continue?'.
I think this whole thing would work perfectly! What do you think?

Here's an image of how the website will (possibly) look in Scratch 2.0:

Note the new buttons and site sections (like "blog")
Nope.
That is an ancient image that has nothing to do with Scratch 2.0

I know, right? Scratch 2.0 has been making itself desired for about a year now, and the developers say a bit of it might come out in a couple of weeks! How exciting, how wonderful, how...

No no no... It's the Flash Player that might be coming out in a few weeks, not 2.0...

Looks good.I heard because of Java, you couldn't upload projects over 10MB.Same deal with Flash?Hope not.
You will be creating your projects online. So you will only have to upload picures, sounds etc. btw will there be an offline version?
