Buddy, this is my first post on the forum but I don't think that you stand a ghost of a chance of being promoted to a scratcher.
The reason for this is that presently you can only be put on the development team if you're a student of MIT.
I don't see any projects in your signature file either. perhaps by putting a link over there, you can highlight some of the work which you have done. This might improve your chances of getting on the development team (in case that's what you want)

I think he/she means the label under his/her username on the forum.
Maybe you should look at some of the ITopics. They might have something. I think it has to do with how long you are on the forums.
If you do mean being on the Scratch Team, than no. You have no chance whatsoever.

Yes, he has a chance. Go to MIT as an undergrad.

Asking to become a Scratcher won't do anything. You have to stay active, both on the forums and in the main site for a while, and then you'll become a Scratcher.

Yes it does. They don't usually promote people without asking.

I don't think so... it has to do with activity.

+1 It doesn't involve asking at all. Just keep making projects, posting, and saying hi to everyone - it'll come eventually

Hey ilawson, changes from New Scratcher status to Scratcher status is not granted by asking, it can only be granted based on a user's activity in the forums and the main site (ie. uploading project, commenting on projects, posting in the forums, visiting the site on a fair basis, etc.).

Buddy, I believe the main point of this topic is about being promoted to the regular Scratcher status in general, not becoming part of the development team, which is ScratchR. Both are entirely different titles.
[And just for clarification's sake : As for getting the status of Scratch Team or ScratchR, the Scratch Team is currently not interested in assigning new members, except those who are currently studying at MIT as part of the UROP program (see here for more info).]

I don't think ilawson can post a signature yet. Signatures are only given after 15 days from the first forum visit.
I believe all the questions has pretty much been answered already, so I'll close down this thread now.
