awhile back I purchased a minecraft server with a service called "hosted game servers." It had 12 player slots each costing $1.65 ($1.95 for new buyers now) per player slot per month. The server was only meant for friends I saw in person often since we split the monthly cost. Though there was a feature called "user credit" where you could refer people to buy servers which would give you $0.35 per player slot off YOUR server's monthly cost! Recently I've received 4 E-mails saying I have user credit from 4 8-slot servers totaling $11.20. Upon reading this I go check my "user credit" tab on my server manager where it says the LAST 5 servers started via my link. Apparently they are all servers that don't match the E-mails. This is because I only receive credit from servers after the 7 day testing period where users can get a full refund if they cancel the server. What does this all mean? It means there are 5 more servers I will soon be getting user credit from! If you total it all up I will soon be getting $19.95 in user credit! Now why is this important? That amount is more than I am paying monthly for the server! So because of this my server is will be free meaning my friends and I won't be paying to keep the server up! This means I can let anyone join without being unfair to my friends! The only reason I won't make my server public is because then people I don't know, griefers, and other weirdies can all join...
Stay tuned for more!
If you want to buy a server with the service I use please use my referral link, so I can earn more credit and possibly increase my server's player limit: www.hostedgameservers.com/?ref=acidictaco
