Gainsboro works better, because it works for everyone. But when you quote you can see it.

#DEDFDF works for everyone, since it's the exact color of the forum background...
...likewise, #F1F1F1 is best for quotes.
I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

That doesn't work on Internet Explorer, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it... use [color=#dedfdf]text goes here[/color] for normal text and [color=#f1f1f1]text goes here[/color] for text inside quote boxes.
