Well, I really loved the idea of accessing a little mining minigame when you reach the bottom of the map (touch the bottom edge).  tongue  It'd be a good extra feature and anyway I don't think many people would like to build stuff underground (we're concentrating on making a clone of creative mode right?).

Maybe just let the player choose between playing the minigame or generating an underground chunk.

Maybe the minigame can unlock certain blocks or something!

Hmm good idea, there would be coal, iron, gold, diamond and obsidian blocks, which of these blocks you unlock depends on the score  big_smile  Maybe do it like that with other blocks, you can't place wood-related blocks until you hit a log block, no stone or cobblestone till you mine a stone block, etc.

Should there be a bottom of the map? Should we possibly have like one mob? It wouldn't be too hard to make a mob. Maybe we could make it so it spawns when you visit a new area, and, if you kill it, you "claim" the territory.  smile

Also, y'all are all valuable to this team. If you want to do something, just say, and we'll [probably] let you do it.

Yes! Yes! I think multiple types. You know zombies, scorpions, etc. (One version I played had a scorpion mob, and trust me, it looked WEIRD.)

Yeah more like that. I was thinking there would be, say, 5 blocks. You choose one and below it you may either find mineral (score depends on rarity), stone (10 points), dirt (0 points) or lava which makes you lose. As you advance there's a chance of getting rarer minerals in more abundance.

(ignoring Septimus)
There is a game with an idea similar to "Getting as deep as you can to find better minerals" in miniclip. the name's Motherload. The only difference is that you have to dig with a machine.

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

Really sorry guys, but we have to go back to a previous version- my version merged with Necromaster's caused weird problems and glitches. Again, really sorry guys!

This is the version we should be using now.

Wait. Wait wait wait wait wait. That one doesn't have building. (Can we go to mine?)

I made a ton of improvements right before the building one. Just physics and stuff, but they make the physics a lot smoother. We should probably stay with mine, and import the building script. Shouldn't be too hard, anyways  smile .

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

I would've checked out Septimus' version before but I didn't have much time (which is also why I haven't really worked on anything... yet). I like how the inventory in that version looks, much simpler than throughthefire's. So I say we keep that feature. I never saw any trees though so I don't know how to fix that.

EDIT: Also I started working on the minigame  big_smile  Since we'll have an inventory and not infinite blocks like in the actual MC Classic, should we give the player the ores he gets after he finishes the minigame? If so, should he lose all his ores if he falls in lava? I say yes to both questions.  wink

Sorry, Sep! I saw your version, and it was pretty cool.  smile

And we have to revert to my version because it's the last one without glitches.

Re: Minecraft 2D Collaboration [no longer accepting applications]

There are a few, but they're only physics glitches. They're still pretty big glitches though- try digging three blocks underground and jumping against a block that's on top of you.

Maybe we can import your project into mine and merge them together?

Graphics definitely need some work. I think I could make it so trees spawn with leaves on their sides too.

Yeah, I didn't know if I could change them , if they would glitch. Can I add a few things (crafting, cobblestone) when you're done?
