Move ___ steps is actually quite a big thing to learn. I believe that velocity, while it is a kind of movement, is a huge step from just steps. Mastering basic movement is what I meant; velocity is more advanced and is in a class of its own.

What is wrong with viewing Scratch as a programming language and not realizing that its more of a community?  Its important to realize that it is a community but you shouldn't kick people out for not realizing that.

That's so right! I wrote this to aid new Scratchers. I want them to realize that Scratch is a community so people won't exclude them or treat them as if they're inferior.

Scratch is not only for games. It can be used to make small animation clips!! (Very tough though)

But yeah, you should mention that you can use Scratch for more than just games, as others have said.

XD! I guess that's a petition; many people have stated that it's NOT JUST FOR GAMES. I'm going to edit it. Keep the feedback coming, I want this article to be really helpful!

Scratch is a official programming language. Scratch is a visual programming language that was made by squeak, also a programming language. Pretty much, scratch makes programming a lot easier. Instead of typing a code all day, put some blocks together and boom, your done. Trust me, I work with Visual Basic and C++, its pretty advanced.
