1) I'm not very noobish when it comes to electronic music.
2) daft punk is too simple with one layer of synths and simple arpeggios I can make on my iPod. You think they are good you should look at the glitch mob or R/D. Seriously.

I do have an MIDI keyboard, but I've only used it in one song since my desk isn't big enough for it, I use a collection of drum samples called vengeance essential house (volumes 1-3) and all my synths are made in the sytrus synthesizer by me, I usually use the soundgoodizer filter on my kick drum and synths
