Ok, ya. I would phrase it differantly, but ya.

I quit using Scratch itself because of neglect to my requests of help on projects, so if people quit that means they actually have a reason to quit, not just to waste people's time...or so I think. Who knows?

I guess you could say people should:
Quit quitting.
But seriously quitting is someone's decision that we should respect.

At one point, my programming ability was a simple Yes/No question with speech balloons, sound and images that appeared under certain conditions. I made no spinning Scratch cat.

The spinning Scratch Cat is more of a testament to how easily garbage can make the front page. If anyone thinks that we actually believe it is good, they may need help

It appears the quoting system got messed up. I'll fix that.

OK, you have no idea how angry I am right now at the sudden uprise of quitters this site has. Everything has gone haywire - I've seen people quitting because 'they are afraid Kaj will hack them', and overall I've seen normal quitters, but LOADS of them.
STOP QUITTING. You know what? I'll quit myself, shall I? See what happens then, since this website is full of quitters now.
OK, I would never quit, but seriously - it's annoying. I swear this website will come to ruin if all these people continue to quit - the only Scratchers left would be the amatuers. And I doubt anyone would want a scribble on the front page.
So, yeah - please stop quitting![]()
As much as we don't like people quitting, I don't think it's our responsibility (let alone our business) to dictate why and when people quit.
Like with any online community, people come and people go. The same can be said with drama (like this recent "Kaj" thing lately). I can't imagine any long-standing community that hasn't undergone changes like this at some point or another in their lifetime.
I think it's best if, instead of focusing so much energy on complaining about negative things like quitting, "kaj", etc., we focus more on what and how we can positively contribute to the community. And we can start by continually encouraging those new to using Scratch to build on what they already know while giving support for those who know how to use Scratch well.

An I prefer offline versions due to dial-up.

I'm still confused. The advice goes for any version of Scratch, whether online or offline. Aside from that, what does Scratch 2.0 have to do with the advice regarding making a fuss about quitters? I'm not seeing the correlation here.

It's their decision. What do you expect? To stay on Scratch for eternity?
You don't get it. I am not sad they are leaving - I'm angry. It's silly. They have ridiculous excuses. And get a grip? You get one. This site is losing so many talented people. Can't you see that? THAT is the thing that is getting me angry.

That is what I'm trying to say. People quit for no reason and it's annoying. Occasionally sad, but generally annoying.

Tomicool, You can't really take control of how people think.....It's their choice if they want to quit or not.
