I have a super cool project that I am trying to upload, but it is larger than the 10 MB file size limit. We Need MORE ONLINE SERVER SPACE!!!!
Could we please have like 15 MB or something? I mean Come On??

Hey, consider the people with low speed internet! Imagine how long it would take someone with dial up internet to load a 15 mb file! Try getting rid of large images and sounds and compress your images and sounds.

Well, i barely ever experience space lag, exept when theres about 10 sprites on the screen.
I don't think thats what he meant. I believe he was referring to the file size of his project.

Is there lots of music in your project? Music files can take up alot of space.
So can very large, multicoloured graphics. But I managed to get my massive Wandering Knight project online, so you ought tobe able to do the same.

I have already knocked out 70MB out of my project, but I am not compressing it anymore.
It is now 14MB, but the graphics STINK, as well as the Music...
Yes, I understand about dial-up, but I can't show any of my friends that are out-of-state...

You can always put the .sb file on your own web space, where they can download it to their own machines.

That's because SCRATCH automatically compressed the sounds. I have manually compressed them smaller than scratch would, but if I compress them any more, they turn into static.

Avoid large music files in your projects as you want not only for them to upload properly, but you want other people to be able to view them.
Giant music slows down the game, causes internet lag, and sometimes Java won't even load the project.

Well I agree with archmage with the dial up thing that I have never heard of, though I also have sympothy for jceggbert5 because he can't show the whole world his project. I think you should be able to do this: You will always be able to share it but if it is greater than the mega-bite limit then you can't play it online but you can download it.

I know how to hack the embed project script to run on my own website, but I only have 40MB of sever space there, too...
But then again, I do have skydrive (microsoft online storage) or I could use my Wii as an HTML server...

You could say that again In fact you could say that 300x because we need more space

I have an idea, just follow the steps.
1. Compress it just as much as you need, so that the graphic and sound quality isn't TOO horrible.
2. Make a website (unless you already have one). I'd recommend using Freewebs (don't worry, it's safe).
3. Make a link to the file (use Freewebs' file uploader) and upload the project to the file uploader. (I'm not sure if there's a size limit or not.)
4. make a project with a link to the website. You should also put the link in the project notes.
5. Tell people to download the file and open it with the scratch program.
Large projects may take awhile to open, but at least you managed to get people to be able to play it.
You also might want to consider making multiple websites with the same file or upgrade to the premium edition because of Freewebs' annoying bandwidth thing.
P.S. Why are scratch files so BIG, anyway? Game Maker files, which usually have a *lot* more in them, barely take up ANY space!

I've never had any problems with file size for one reason. I don't use sounds. Try taking out any unused sounds (maybe you left them on the sprite and forgot to remove them?) or unused costumes. Try releasing the project in multiple parts. 10mb is ample room for most projects, I would defiantly have trouble loading more than 10mb for one project. You said you removed 70mb from your project before? It must have had a lot of sound files if it was so big! That would take me 10 minutes to load!
