is anyone else getting authentication words?

My username and password does not 'save' When i push log in however it shows up which is fine. But now i have to contend with authentication letters. Why? Do we even need them?

Re: is anyone else getting authentication words?

To prevent spammers and maybe hackers.

That's what its always used for. Would you rather have this or no scratch because of spammers and hackers?

Re: is anyone else getting authentication words?

I've gotten it a fe times.

I think it's actually to put off hackers with computer programs for hacking into accounts. If you try too many times, the Scratch Team would probably seal off your account.  hmm

Re: is anyone else getting authentication words?

Spammers often set up bots to make a load of accounts and spam, or hackers might set up a program to guess passwords at speeds that would be impossible for any human to do then leave it running until it gets it.
