Most of the other posts i have read have said that i need to use the button <when I receive[ and then "switch background to.... ". But i when i downloaded scratch, i couldnt find the <when I receive[ button. PLz help??? :-(

Its in the control section just below the broadcasting blocks.
You will also need to use a broadcast block and create a new broadcast to be received
And bcrc, if you want to ask a question make your own thread, but when one sprite is talking unless you are telling the others to hide they should stay there.
