We're learning about them in History. It's...creepy. The costumes, the rascism, the violence.
Has anyone else learned about them? It makes me uncomfortable because I'm Catholic, my cousin's friend is Jewish, and a have African American friend.
Is there really this much hatred in the world? It's like, the American Nazis?
I don't know, I just wanted to talk about it. I want to learn more...you know. So anyone know some things about these guys?

They were around in the 1920's and it is said they were terrorists. A high standing member is a Red Dragon and there are other color dragons. They also targetted Christians for being 'Un-American' That's about all I know.

This year, my class had a field trip to the Civil Rights Museum, and we learned about them, I am in 5th grade and I learned something I probably would learn in middle school. They are evil.

Where'd you hear about them attacking Christians? I don't think that's true.

I learned about the hierarchy in history too
We also watched this movie, it's called A time to kill. It had scenes with the KKK meeting up, and protesting Matthew McConaughey for defending Samuel L. Jackson in a murder trial

Forrest Gump's definition of the Klan is worth a lol...
Racism and extreme prejudice is all around you, people just don't stand up for such things as they used to, thankfully. I meet people all the time who can't exactly keep there mouth shut about there "dislikes" toward the opposite race/gender/religion (and I'm not counting "women drivers" or black jokes). And this hate comes from every side. I've seen people of my background coming out as racists, sexists, or haters toward religion and other things, and at the same time I see people of the opposite background showing the same discontent. It's unfortunate.

What's even more sad/creepy/disturbing is that the group still exists.
I had a friend who emailed them about it, and they responded with a very political, well-informed answer, which scares me a little bit more. These are people just like us, not people who are, by definition, insane.

There is not as much hatred in the subject they are teaching you, mostly idiotic teenagers who think they are "cool", by expressing hatred towards other races.

Well, they sadly still exist, but you barely hear a peep out of them anymore. Which is good.

we talked about it very briefly in social studies class a few years ago
it was really surprising for everyone
it was really surprising for me to find that some kids had no idea that kind of stuff is happening
we didn't really learn much, though
and i went to a Holocaust museum today, and it was really disturbing to be honest- learning about how fascist people were back then
and it's even more disturbing to learn that some people today are still like that
people these days.
