Sonic Adventure DLC

In case you didn't know, the original Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure had DLC. When you downloaded a DLC, it would create a special event to happen in your game. These events mostly happened in the Station Square area, as you spawn there when you start up the game. However, some events happened elsewhere. Here's a list of SA DLCs:

Dreamcast Launch US: This event was given out before the Dreamcast was released in North America in order to promote it over in Japan. Interestingly, this was also given out in the US. It puts up signs around Station Square telling you about how the Dreamcast was going to be released in NA on 9/9/99. Simple enough. As long as this is downloaded, the sings stay up.

Twinkle Park Halloween Party: This DLC was released on Halloween. When downloaded, it transformed Twinkle Park into a Halloween themed level. Even though this was only given out on Halloween, the level remains Halloweeny year round as long as it's downloaded. It also put up posters around Station Square depicting Halloween.

Station Square Christmas: This puts up two huge Christmas trees on the two opposite ends of Station Square. When interacted with, a message come up giving you seasons greetings, and the music turns to a soft Christmas carol. As long as this is downloaded, the trees stay.

Y2K Celebration: This was released to promote the coming of millennium 2000. It puts up signs talking about 2000, along with a big ring reading "Millennium 2000". When interacted with, it says "Happy Y2K!" and the Japanese version of Palmtree Panic plays. Another one of these rings can be found in Emerald Coast. All of this stays as long as you've downloaded it, which makes it kind of ironic.

AT&T/ODCM Events: AT&T and the Official Dreamcast Magazine teamed up to release three separate events. One transformed Speed Highway into a special time attack level, one spread hidden treasures throughout Mystic Ruins, and one added special gates to Sand Hill. You had to complete these as fast as possible, and the winners would get a prize. Fifteen winners would be given year-long subscriptions to the ODCM, nineteen winners would be given a free Dreamcast game, and five would be given an AT&T Premium Package for a whole year free. The grand prize winner would receive all three. As long as these are downloaded, the various levels are FILLED with AT&T promotion material.

Samba GP Level: This added a new gateway behind the entrance to the Twinkle Park area. This gate would lead to a new Twinkle Circuit track that was a promotion for the release of Samba De Amigo. Ironically, the level has nothing to do with Samba De Amigo at all. It's a fun challenge, though. Stays as long as downloaded.

Dreamcast Launch EU: Exact same as the US version, but it promotes the EU version instead.

Sonic's Game of Hide & Seek: This spreads five pictures of real life hedgehogs hidden throughout Station Square in various locations. Just a fun little minigame, nothing special. Stays as long as downloaded.

Eggman's Voice: This replaces the announcer's voice with Robotnik/Eggman's voice. 'Nuff said!

Tell me if I missed any. Oh, and SA2 also has DLC, but this is for SA1. SA2 is for something else...

The Dreamcast version of the games had DLC, but ONLY the Dreamcast versions. You can't get the DLC, because the Dreamcast is no longer supported by Sega. D:

I can show you the SA2 DLC, if you like, or any of the SA1 DLC.

Unless there's one that gives you a AK-47 and a infinite supply of hand grenades I'm not interested.

Re: Sonic Adventure DLC

I only just found out that the Dreamcast was the first ever console to connect to internet and offer DLC (looked up on Wikipedia, YouTube and some Sonic fan sites). Cool, I guess. I want to play Sonic Adventure again - I prefered it to SA2, because it felt more free, and the levels were a bit more jolly, instead of the ARK based missions in SA2.

I might return for a little while.

What are you talking about? Sure SA2 didn't have a station square, and tails had to be in that stupid robot the whole time (besides in chao world), but the levels where WAY better, and the 2 player mode was amazing, how could you not love this game?
