Download V1.1
Folder Adventures are like an RPG wrapped inside a Choose Your Own Adventure book, drenched in a text adventure. The best part? You don't need to download any new programs! The entire game is played with Notepad (well, any text editor), folders, and dice (or random.org)!
The download comes with only one adventure (the tutorial) and the rules, but you can download more adventures under the "More adventures" section of this post.
If you make an adventure, upload it and I'll add it to the "More adventures" section of this post so everyone can see it.
Changes in V1.1
• Clarified a rule about items. (Sometimes, an item description will say that the item can only be used once per battle. Battles are a fight against a single enemy, and a new battle begins when you kill the first enemy and fight a new one.)
• Clarified a rule about fighting. (If you ever fight multiple enemies in one text file, note that you fight only one enemy at a time. When you defeat the first, you fight the second. When you defeat the second, you fight the third.)
• Changed the rule that says you have to remove 1 luck from your luck when you use it. (Because it drained luck and was quite annoying at times.)
• Changed all the filetypes to RTF to prevent a glitch from happening on non-Macintosh computers.
Older Versions (in case a new version is broken for some reason)

Nice idea. I don't see why the luck tutorial removes luck though, it drained mine to 0.
Anyway, I think this would be much cooler if it used all folders in the system to randomly generate quests. Of course it would need a way to erase all the folders generated though... But it'd be cool. Just imagine, "a group of rebels is invading the My Images folder!" and you go through the folders, with the chance of encountering enemies and items in the way
I may create an adventure for fun if someone else other than me shows interest ;P

Neat concept. I may waste a few hours trying it out tonight on my netbook. And make one if I can/get the hang of it.

Actually, I only have one "adventure" right now (the tutorial ).

Thanks! Well, there are these things called "Gamebook Adventures", which I basically copied and implemented on the computer . They had it so whenever luck is used, it's drained by 1.

xD that would be cool, but I'd have to use a program to place the folders in the system, which would be relatively hard. Then there's always the possibility that there might be a folder or text file of the same name in your images folder, so it would conflict.
You could still make a "simulation" adventure adding images into puzzles and stuff.

I look forward to it
@Everyone saying nice: Thanks

Okay, since many people are interested I'm creating the adventure right now Should be done tomorrow, it's not too hard or complex.
EDIT: Uh oh, hit the 255-character filepath limit. That really limits this game actually...

Um. Binary? xD it's not really programmed- it uses the native folders and programs.

I guess it'll just ease navigation and stat/inventory storage.

Oh yes, very. I added a few exclusives for just this game, which doesnt effect the core gameplay at all. Which means 3 games in 1.
