Hello everybody!
I have an mp3 sound file, and if i try to import it into Scratch it just says "Unrecognized audio file format". What converter do I have to use to convert it to the right audio format? Can someone please help?
Thanks, Purika

I have the same problem. I put 3 mp3 files into scratch, they worked fine, but when I tried putting another mp3 file, it failed! Maybe the file is corrupt or something like that

If I remeber correctly, Scratch uses .wav files. Try Googling a converter that does that.

You're probably right, just the first poster can't get .mp3 files to work, which is why I told them to try to convert them to .wav files.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe it has to do something with the compression of the mp3 file - the greater the compression, the harder it is to import.
Speaking of which - because of the same reason, Scratch is not able to accept all wav files either. @Purika: make sure you convert the file an uncompressed wav files (WIndows PCM format) before you import the file into Scratch.

If you haven't already, try running the mp3 files through Audacity (you'll needs its MP3 plugin. I find that this often helps me fix audio files if they aren't importing, especially when you tweak the export settings.
I moved this to Troubleshooting, I think it's a better fit there.
