I believe six minutes is because you don't want the forums to overflow, or is there another reason. I want to be active on the forums, but it is kind of hard when i have to wait 360 seconds between two posts. maybe you can shorten it a little bit to like two or three minutes, that would be great. Please think about my idea, so we can make scratch forums a better place.

But they're making sure no one spams the forums.
If we didn't have it, there'd be a whole bunch of spammers, and not just for scratch projects.
Congratulations, TuffGhost, there is a 29:2 ratio of words to punctuation!

Not so much as overflow, but there were previous issues where commercial spammers and trolls were posting excessively in the forums that is became much harder to clean up. The belief is that most people who are new to the forums and really into Scratch can usually put up with the temporary 360 second rule (at least until their account is upgraded to "Scratcher", at which point, the time limit gets reduced down to the usual one-minute, which is typical of most other forums).
A little hint: being upgraded to "Scratcher" status depends on how you participate on both the main site and the forums, so it is actually quite possible to get to the 'Scratcher" status on the forums with only a handful of forum posts and have the time limit reduced down to the one-minute rule.

I'm feeling a bit lazy now, so time for some copy-and-paste action :

Okay...let me summarize. Not everybody likes to have their grammar corrected. In fact, some people find it annoying, particularly when it's done in a less-than-tactful way.
This isn't an English grammar site...it's a Scratch Programming site. So maybe we can see a little less focus on the grammar and more focus on the programming![]()

I know where the joke is coming from - however it's not very funny because it still focuses on pointing out mistakes when it is rather unnecessary (hence why I reposted Paddle's post from a previous thread). So let's drop the grammar jokes, please.

Okay so if you get the tag scratcher instead of new scratcher it goes from six minutes to one. About how manny posts do you need before getting the tag scratcher?

It's not a matter of posts, it's a matter of time
You have to be active for a month, and active on the website as well to be upgraded
