Make good projects, spell and have good grammar on the forums, try not to get too many closed topics, off topics or moved topics, follow rules, be random, and have fun.
Also, beg to be a curator. It does wonders for your popularity.

My personal advice is to work hard, while you may not feel popular during the time of making awesome projects it's afterwards that it happens.
Don't expect too much though, there are a lot of people that have been using Scratch for years and have had to wait for nearly as long to have their projects become popular.
Just work hard and keep smiling

But since your name is on the front page(as in "Projects chosen by ____" it gives you fame even if you don't want it.

Actually, this was a stupid joke, because I have actually never seen a project of this type front paged. So it would be more accurate to say nothing, because I have no honest clue.
