As I was surfing YouTube today, I found this video. It shows how someone made you have the Portal Gun in Half-Life 2!
How awesome is THAT? Actually, it isn't Portal in HL2, it's HL2 in PORTAL. You see, they imported the files from HL2 into Portal using GCFScape. No, it's not GMOD, it's in Portal. That's why the Portal Gun works so well. The site that made this video says that you can try it with other Source games, but my not be satisfactory. Another sad thing is that they can't find a way to get multiplayer with this, so no Portal Deathmatch. Sorry 08jackt! D: BTW, I saw some people import other Source games into Portal for fun, and the results aren't THAT bad. Imagine, though, if they got a multiplayer deathmatch mode to work. Now THAT would be thinking with portals! [/aperturescience]

When Portal 2 comes out they can make a multiplayer deathmatch using the Co-Op mode.

Imagine a fully customizable Portal Deathmatch game...we just need the Deathmatch part, though.

In a way, Portal and Half-Life are related. (No, not because they're both by Valve, the greatest FPS game company of all time).
Can't remember though. Something about Black Mesa and Aperture Science sharing some connection...

The two are rivals. Also, Portal gets a mention in HL2: Episode Two by Eli Vance, Issac Kleiner, and Arne Magusson. Oh, and in Portal, GLaDOS mentions "them", which is speculated to be the Combine.
Oh, and to all of you reading this, I posted a link to the site that originally found this.

So, if there was a Portal Deathmatch game, what would you do?

How would you hurt people, other than making them drop from the ceiling? 'Course, if you're skilled you can portal the floor twice and save yourself, so you couldn't hurt anyone.

If you use the "impulse_101" cheat, you get all of the weapons from Half-Life 2.
I personally think of it along the lines of this, but with multiplayer.

So, does anyone have any ideas for a Portal Deathmatch game? Any ideas for maps from a certain Source game OTHER than HL2 to import?

Well, Portal (along with Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, etc) runs on the Half Life 2 game engine, if that's what you meant.

Are you saying that my statement was false, or that that's not what he meant?

i saw a tutorial in a magazine how to do that. you had to import the hl2 map into portal or something.
I said so myself in the starter post for this thread.
