What do you do if you lose your password? Information for newbies!

AHH! I lost my password! What do I do?
Well, the answer is easy!

The two options to redeem your password only require moving hands and some eyes!... and a scratch account, lost password, and the rest of your body. And life. And intelligence. And this guide. Ah, you know what I mean.

Option one: This option might take a while, but is reliable because it isn't done by robots. Okay, so it says log in, and you press it to try to get into your account. Your eyes shift over to the button that says 'Forgot you password?' I think you know what to do after that. Tip: If the email hasn't come, try pressing the button again or checking your spam folder.

Option two: Before you even lose your password, you could do this: Put your password in a document on Microsoft Word. That is completely private and nobody but you could see it, unless somebody else shares your computer, but I don't think someone in your own household would do that.

So, good luck!

I believe that you can even make the document password protected. I use openoffice.org, so I can't say about MS Word, but I think.

Nice informal post.  big_smile  But, I do think "newbies" part in the title sounds a bit unreassuring and insulting to New Scratchers. Otherwise, c big_smile   big_smile  lio. <---coolio, get it? Ah ha, FUNNY. Okay then. Onwards!

Anyone can open the document. Of course, you could hide it...

No, just saving it on the document,  not sharing it! If someone shares your computer, it's unlikely they would hack you anyway.

EDIT: No, making a document that has the password in it, if that's what your confused about.
